Anthony Layton is counsel in the firm’s Real Estate Industry group. Mr. Layton represents institutional real estate investment management companies and real estate private equity funds in complex commercial real estate transactions, including joint ventures, restructurings, financings, acquisitions and dispositions. Additionally, Anthony regularly represents institutional investment funds in connection with subscription secured credit facilities. He joined Goodwin in 2014.

Mr. Layton’s representations include:

  • A publicly traded REIT in connection with the acquisition and refinancing of a $500+ million portfolio of retail properties
  • A nationally recognized commercial real estate company in the $1+ billion financing of a major metropolitan office building
  • A real estate investment management client in connection with the formation of a programmatic joint venture to acquire single family rental communities
  • A real estate investment management company’s membership interest disposition of a nation-wide retail asset portfolio
  • A real estate private equity fund’s acquisition and financing of a multifamily asset in the Mid-Atlantic
  • A real estate investment management company’s disposition of retail and office assets in the Northeast
  • A real estate investment management client in connection with obtaining an $120+ million construction loan for the development of a mixed-use project including restaurant, retail and office space
  • A real estate investment management client in connection with securing a $200 million subscription-secured credit facility for one of its real estate investment funds

During law school, Mr. Layton served as an executive editor for the UCC Digest and as secretary for the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association.
