Professional Experience
Connie received her JD from the University of California, Irvine School of Law, where she served as president of the Space Law Society and vice president and founding board of Women in Tech Law. She gained valuable experience representing clients in the Startup and Small Business Clinic and various pro bono matters.
While in law school, Connie interned at NASA Ames Research Center in the Office of Chief Counsel as a part of the Space Law Network. There, she provided legal support for various legal matters involving public-private agreements and innovative technologies developed at NASA. In addition, Connie served as a fellow in the Invention Transfer Group at UCI Applied Innovation, where she supported the university’s early startup acquisitions and intellectual property licensing. She also externed for the Honorable Andrew J. Guilford and the Patent Pilot Program in U.S. District Courts, Central District of California.
Prior to joining Goodwin, Connie acquired genetics, molecular neuroscience, and immunology research experience. She was a graduate researcher in Dr. Kevin T. Beier’s lab in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at UCI. Her graduate thesis focused on engineering molecular reagents for the manipulation of long-term potentiation (LTP) in conjunction with synaptic neural plasticity, and she mapped brain circuit pathology in neurodegenerative conditions through viral and optogenetics techniques. She also assisted with early product development with the lab.
