CJ Morrison is an Associate in the Business Law department at Goodwin. CJ joined Goodwin in 2022.
CJ’s practice focuses on advising emerging growth companies and their investors in pre-incorporation planning, formation, general corporate representation and venture capital financings, primarily in the climate technology industry. She has experience working on transactions and advising clients in variety of climate tech sectors, including carbon capture and sequestration, carbon credit, desalination, home electrification, electronic vehicle, and waste management.
In her pro bono work, CJ supports Native American communities and entrepreneurs in addition to nonprofits and small businesses developing sustainability solutions.
Experience
Before law school, CJ worked as a paralegal at the national ACLU Disability Rights Program in San Francisco. At the ACLU, she supported attorneys in a portfolio of appellate and class action intersectional civil rights litigation, as well as national and state lobbying. Her work focused on assisting attorneys in their representation of deaf and hard of hearing people incarcerated in state prison and people with disabilities who experienced police brutality.
At Georgetown, CJ worked as an intern litigating on behalf of environmental justice organizations and Tribes at the Department of the Interior and GULC’s Environmental Law and Justice Clinic. She also was a staff member of the Georgetown Environmental Law Review. While supporting prospective law students throughout the application process, CJ consulted with the admissions department in their outreach to Native American applicants.
CJ worked at Goodwin as a summer associate in 2021.
