Matt Muir is an Associate in Goodwin’s Business Law department. He joined Goodwin in 2022.
Experience
Matt’s focus is on the lifecycle of tech and life sciences emerging companies. Matt assists in company formations, venture financings, and day-to-day operations of companies.
Professional Activities
During law school Matt was a Research Associate with the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (now known as the International Sustainability Standards Board), Director of the Business Law Society at UCI, and an Associate Editor on the UCI Law Review. Matt was also a Research Assistant to Professor Christopher Leslie.
Matt won the Faculty Award for the highest grade and outstanding performance in Venture Capital Deals, a class with 30 plus students. Matt also received the highest grade in International Corporate Governance.
Prior to law school, Matt worked with the General Counsel's office of a large international law firm, and, at home, was deeply involved as Vice President of an economic development non-profit where he worked closely with state and local government officials to attract existing businesses and startups to development zones.
Matt is an accomplished mountaineer and guide with over 20 years of international alpine experience including several 6000m summits.
