Ximena Negretti is an associate in Goodwin’s Business Law Department and a member of its Private Equity group. She advises on all aspects of corporate law, with a particular focus on mid-market private equity transactions, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, growth equity and venture capital investments across a variety of industries. Ms. Negretti re-joined Goodwin in 2021.

Ms. Negretti is fluent in English, French, Spanish and Italian, being Italian-Colombian and having completed her education between France, the UK and Mexico.

  • Joint venture between CDC and DP World to invest in ports and logistics across Africa with an initial seed investment in DP World assets in Senegal, Egypt and Somaliland (initial commitment of US$320 million with an expectation to invest US$400m over several years)
  • Investment of US$200 millon in Bank of Africa, BMCE Group Morocco
  • Consortium acquisition of a microfinance organisation in South Asia valued US$150 million+
  • Co-investment in a fintech company in Myanmar
  • Investment in Frontiir, a leading internet service provider in Myanmar

  • Better Capital on the sale of Santia Holdings Ltd, a leading UK provider of integrated health & safety and environment risk management services, to Alcumus Holdings
  • Amplify Snack Brands, a platform food company listed on the NYSE focused on developing and marketing Better-For-You (BFY) snack brands, on its acquisition of Tyrrells, a manufacturer of premium potato and vegetable chips and including the brands Yarra Valley and Aroma Snacks in Australia and Germany respectively, from Investcorp and the existing management team, valuing Tyrrells at £300 million
  • Mitratech, a developer of legal software, on its acquisition of Hitec Laboratories Limited
  • Kelvin Hughes, a provider of navigation, radar and surveillance solutions, on the sale of its subsidiary business ChartCo, the world’s principal provider of navigational data, nautical charts, marine technical publications, compliance data and digital services

  • Investment by Graphite Capital in the holding company of The Delaunay and The Wolseley restaurants*

Professional Experience

Prior to joining Goodwin in 2021, Ms. Negretti was most recently in-house legal counsel at CDC Group plc, the UK’s development finance institution. Before CDC, Ms. Negretti was at King & Wood Mallesons LLP (formerly SJ Berwin LLP) and Goodwin; she also worked as an advisory lawyer for the UK Home Office.
