Ian Rogers is a litigation associate in Goodwin’s Complex Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice and a member of the firm’s Government Investigations & Enforcement Group. Ian’s practice focuses on representing and advising companies in connection with government and internal corporate investigations, white-collar criminal defense, and complex commercial litigation. He has worked with clients ranging from multinational financial institutions and life sciences companies to real estate investment trusts and private equity start-ups.
Ian also maintains an active pro bono practice. He has represented nonprofit organizations and individuals in connection with numerous criminal and civil matters before both federal and state courts.
Professional Experience
Previously, Ian served as a Special Assistant District Attorney with the Middlesex County (Massachusetts) District Attorney’s Office during a six-month secondment. In that role, he prosecuted hundreds of felony and misdemeanor cases, handled to final verdict more than a dozen jury and bench trials, and argued countless dispositive motions and evidentiary hearings before the court.
During law school, Ian was a law clerk for the United States Senate’s Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations and an intern in the chambers of the Hon. Lawrence J. Vilardo, United States District Judge for the Western District of New York. Prior to law school, Ian received a Gilman Fellowship in the department of Modern Languages and Literatures at The Johns Hopkins University, where he studied intellectual history.
