Anne Stemlar serves as Goodwin’s Managing Director of Knowledge Management and Research. Ms. Stemlar leads a global team of information professionals, legal technologists and professional support lawyers. She is responsible for the strategic direction of the firm’s knowledge management and research functions, focusing on innovation and emerging legal technologies, including data analytics and artificial intelligence.
Under Ms. Stemlar’s leadership, Goodwin’s KM team has received industry recognition for a variety of innovative solutions. Goodwin Litigation Intelligence, the firm’s Tableau-powered data system, was honored by The Financial Times in 2016. Goodwin’s collaboration with Shoobx, a web-based ecosystem for startups, was shortlisted as a nominee for the ILTA 2017 Innovative Project of the Year Award – Client Facing. Lastly, Goodwin’s Work History data platform was a “Standout” winner at the 2018 Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Awards.
Ms. Stemlar is a frequent speaker on a variety of information services management topics, including: information strategy, proactive service models and innovation. She is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, American Association of Law Libraries and the International Legal Technology Association.
Ms. Stemlar holds an M.L.I.S from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, a J.D. from Marquette University Law School and a B.A. from The University of Iowa.
