Luke Sutherland is an associate in Goodwin’s Business Law department and a member of its Technology and Life Sciences group. Luke represents companies throughout their life cycles. He works with clients on a wide range of matters, including pre-incorporation planning and formation, venture capital and growth equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, secondary transactions, other strategic transactions, and general corporate representation and counseling. He also represents venture capital and private equity funds focusing on technology and life sciences companies. He joined Goodwin in 2021.

Professional Experience
Prior to joining Goodwin, Luke was an associate at Ropes & Gray in Boston, where he was a member of the Private Capital Transactions group focusing on private equity transactions.
During law school, Luke was a senior editor of the Boston University Law Review, and he worked as a corporate counsel extern at a biopharmaceutical company in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He also advised MIT and Boston University students seeking legal assistance for their academic and extracurricular activities in Boston University’s Technology Law Clinic.
