Todd Taylor is counsel in the Intellectual Property Litigation practice in Washington D.C. Todd concentrates his practice on Section 337 investigations at the International Trade Commission (ITC) and patent infringement cases in U.S. district courts and the Federal Circuit. He has served as lead trial counsel on over 30 cases at the ITC. Todd is a registered patent attorney and worked in industry as a computer programmer and aerospace engineer.

Professional Experience
Before joining Goodwin Procter, Todd served as a Senior Investigative Attorney in the ITC’s Office of Unfair Import Investigations, where he was lead counsel on cases involving patents, trademarks, service marks, and claims of unfair competition. He has experience in all aspects of a Section 337 investigation—including institution and advisory, enforcement, and violation proceedings. While at the ITC, Todd argued ten Markman hearings and first-chaired eight trials. His experience spans a diverse range of technologies, including lithium-ion batteries, mobile phones, RFID devices, dental ceramics, DNA sequencing, and wireless and cellular network standards (involving standard essential patents).
Before attending law school, Todd was an International Product Manager at America Online, where he assisted with the launch of the service into France and Germany. He also worked as an Aerospace Engineer in Huntsville, Alabama, where he developed and coded computer simulations for a satellite-based infrared sensor.

Todd is a member of the ITC Trial Lawyers Association (ITCTLA) and Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO).
