Cusaj Thomas is an associate in the firm’s Business Law department and a member of its Private Equity Group. He advises private equity sponsors, strategic investors and their portfolio companies on complex business transactions across a wide range of industries. His practice spans domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, continuation vehicle secondary transactions, minority and growth equity investments and general corporate representation.
Cusaj also works extensively with early-stage technology and life sciences companies, as well as search fund entrepreneurs, guiding them through fundraises, strategic investments and operational milestones. With experience representing both investors and companies, he brings a balanced perspective to structuring deals and mitigating risk. He joined Goodwin as a law clerk in 2018 and as an associate in 2019.

- York Capital Management on its definitive agreement to acquire Comprehensive Rehab Consultants and affiliates
- 1686 Partners on its investment in MSCHF Product Studio Inc.
- TriSpan on its single-asset continuation vehicle for NAYA
Professional Experience
Cusaj was a law clerk in Goodwin’s Private Equity group in 2018-2019 and a summer associate in 2017.
