Oliver Thomson

Oliver Thomson is an associate and Solicitor Advocate in Goodwin’s Complex Litigation & Dispute Resolution and Financial Services Litigation practices. He advises clients across different industry sectors on a wide range of high-value corporate and commercial disputes.

Prior to joining Goodwin in 2024, Oliver was a Senior Associate at Jenner & Block in London.

Oliver’s representative experience includes:

• Acting for a telecoms group in a number of commercial court and insolvency proceedings, including to bring claims in unlawful means conspiracy and breach of warranty;
• Acting for a fintech business and its founder defending commercial court proceedings for breach of confidence;
• Acting for a US public company in an LCIA arbitration concerning payments under a licence agreement in the life sciences sector;
• Acting for a bank regarding the collapse of a real estate fund;
• Acting for a bank defending claims in negligence and breach of contract concerning the purchase of public securities;
• Acting for a US public company in a multi-billion-dollar contractual dispute concerning a complex supply agreement;
• Acting for a family office to investigate and bring proceedings ($100 million+) for fraudulent misrepresentation, conspiracy and breaches of contract and fiduciary duties against a number of defendants in relation to the collapse of a high-frequency trading firm*
• Acting for a listed defence contractor in significant contractual disputes (billions of dollars) with a government*
• Acting for an investment bank and the general partner of a $2 billion investment fund in relation to the collapse of the Abraaj Group*
• Acting for a Fortune 100 hospitality company to defend claims arising from past data breaches*
• Acting for various investment firms in derivatives close-out disputes*
