Steve Townsend, an attorney in the firm’s Litigation department, practices in the areas of product liability and commercial litigation (primarily in the financial services industry). He joined Goodwin in 2001.
Steve is a member of the Boston, Massachusetts, and American Bar Associations. He is also a Chairman of the Board of Missions of the First Church in Swampscott (Mass.), Congregational, and has made several mission trips to Latin America – including a February 2003 visit to Mexico, in which he was part of a team that accomplished the fastest “build” ever in that country for Habitat for Humanity.
Prior to joining Goodwin, Steve worked at the Boston firms of Morrison, Mahoney & Miller LLP, and Jantzen & Saccitella.
Experience
Steve has traveled extensively to perform extended document/privilege reviews of highly sensitive client records. Steve, who is fluent in Spanish and able to read Portuguese, French, and Italian, has performed detailed analysis and translation of numerous foreign language documents. He also has expert knowledge of complex financial services records and practices, the result of a 14-year career in the Boston financial services industry prior to his becoming an attorney.
