Qingyi (Ree) Wang is a partner in the firm’s Business Law department and a key member of the Private Investment Funds practice based in Silicon Valley.
Experience
Ree Wang’s practice focuses primarily on the full lifecycle representation of venture capital and growth equity fund sponsors, including advice on fund structuring, formation and marketing. She advises sponsors on all aspects of internal governance and ongoing operational matters, such as economic arrangements, succession planning, separation and compliance.
Ree holds significant experience counseling established and emerging sponsors, with a particular focus on the structuring, establishment and regulatory compliance of venture capital funds and managers investing in the digital asset and crypto space. She also guides clients on private equity, hedge fund and fund-of-funds matters. In addition, she represents institutional investors in connection with their investments in private investment funds.
As fund counsel, Ree serves clients across a variety of sectors, notably technology and healthcare. Her transactional expertise encompasses sophisticated secondary transactions, including the creation of continuation and liquidity vehicles, as well as strategic structures like co-investment vehicles and venture studios.
Ree joined Goodwin in 2018.
Professional Experience
Prior to joining Goodwin, Ree was an associate in the New York office of Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP, where she represented both sponsors and institutional investors in the preparation and negotiation of fund formation and investment documents of private equity funds, hedge funds and hybrid funds.
