Boston, MA — Goodwin, Procter & Hoar LLP announced late yesterday that Regina M. Pisa, 42, a partner in the firm’s Corporate Department, has been elected the next Managing Partner of th e law firm. With 368 lawyers, Goodwin, Procter & Hoar LLP is the largest law firm in Boston and all of New England. The firm also has offices in Washington, D.C. and New York City.
It is the first time in the firm’s history that a woman has been elected to the position of Managing Partner. Across the country, there are barely a handful of women who have assumed the responsibility and challenge of a managing a premiere national law firm. In Boston, she will become the only female Managing Partner among the city’s largest law firms.
Ms. Pisa will succeed A. Jeffrey Dando who had decided to step down as Managing Partner after serving in that role for 5 years. “Regina is a superstar. Not only is she intelligent, energetic and personable, but she brings a real passion to everything she does. Regina is driven to be the best. She will no doubt take Goodwin, Procter to new heights,” said Dando.
For a number of years Ms. Pisa has been actively involved in the management of the firm while maintaining her full time law practice. Ms. Pisa has been serving as one of three partners who comprise the firm’s Management Committee. She is also a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.
Ms. Pisa’s law practice relates primarily to the financial services area, representing mutual funds, banks and other financial institutions. Ms. Pisa is a graduate of Harvard University, Oxford University, and Georgetown University Law Center.
