Goodwin, Procter & Hoar LLP Partner Maura Griffith Moffatt Honored by Greater Boston Real Estate Board

Boston, MA — Goodwin, Procter & Hoar LLP is pleased to announce that Maura Griffith Moffatt, a partner in the firm's Real Estate Department, was presented with the Robert S. Swain Jr. Distinguished Service Award on October 5, 2000 by the Greater Boston Real Estate Board's (GBREB) Real Estate Finance Association (REFA).

Ms. Moffatt was honored along with her father, J. Brad Griffith of Leggat McCall Properties, and her sister, Marci B. Griffith of Trammell Crow, as REFA chose to recognize the Griffith family for their vast contributions to the real estate industry.

The award is named in honor of the late Robert S. Swain, Jr., who in his 33-year career in the real estate lending industry exemplified the qualities of leadership, mentorship and public service for which the award is now given.

Ms. Moffatt's practice at Goodwin Procter involves a wide variety of commercial real estate transactions, with a particular emphasis on real estate investment and finance, capital markets and real estate securities, including property acquisitions and dispositions, development projects, commercial leasing and debt and equity investments and restructures. Ms. Moffatt represents investors of all types, including tax-exempt entities, public companies, private funds, individual investors, real estate operating companies, developers, banking institutions, insurance companies and pension fund advisors.

Ms. Moffatt is a member of the American, Massachusetts and Boston Bar associations, as well as a member of the executive committee of the Georgetown University National Law Alumni Board. She is also a regular speaker for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education. In addition, Ms. Moffatt graduated from Georgetown University's College of Arts and Sciences in 1988 where she majored in history. She received her law degree cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center in 1991.
