Goodwin Procter Recognized for Outstanding Pro Bono Efforts

Firm receives Access to Justice award from Massachusetts Bar Association

BOSTON, Jan. 27, 2003 — Goodwin Procter LLP was honored recently with the 2003 Access to Justice award, given annually by the Massachusetts Bar Association (MBA). The award is given to select MBA members and one firm in recognition of their achievements and contributions to pro bono public service.

The award was presented during the 2003 Annual Conference of the Massachusetts Bar Association, honoring the success of Goodwin Procter’s pro bono efforts. Under the direction of William Mayer, partner in the firm’s financial services practice, the Pro Bono Committee strives to set forth the highest standards in the way the firm reaches out to help others through its volunteer legal work.

Among Goodwin Procter’s pro bono clients are the Friends of Boston’s Homeless, Neighborhood Housing Services of New York, the Environmental Resources Trust and the Women’s Educational and Industrial Union.
