BOSTON, June 1, 2011 – CIO magazine has named the Information Technology Department of Goodwin Procter LLP, a national Am Law 50 firm, as a member of its 2011 CIO 100 list. The 24th annual award program recognizes organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology (IT).
Goodwin Procter was recognized for its Founders Workbench initiative. Founders Workbench is a free, online resource that helps entrepreneurs navigate many of the legal and organizational challenges commonly faced by start-ups and emerging companies. The website includes an interactive online product, Document Driver, that enables entrepreneurs to create tailored legal start-up documents, including incorporation filings, and a blog, The Founders Toolbox, where the firm’s attorneys and external contributors provide regular insight on topics of interest to founders.
“We are highly committed to utilizing technology and social media to work with start-ups, emerging companies and the entrepreneurial community. Founders Workbench is a unique offering in the industry, providing a comprehensive set of free documents coupled with high value guidance and advice, and we are extremely pleased that it has been recognized by CIO magazine for inclusion in this select group,” said Peter F. Lane, Goodwin Procter’s Chief Information Officer. “Our IT department partnered with a host of internal sponsors and constituents to bring this project to fruition, and we are delighted with the outcome.”
Lane will accept the award on behalf of Goodwin Procter at the CIO 100 Symposium & Awards Ceremony held August 14-16 in Colorado Springs, CO. To follow Founder’s Workbench on Twitter, go to: @founderstoolbox.
