Goodwin Procter Partners with Re-entry Program for Women Lawyers

Partnership with OnRamp Fellowship Builds on Goodwin’s Commitment to Enhancing Diversity and Inclusion in the Legal Profession

Goodwin Procter, a leading Am Law 50 and Global 50 law firm, announced today that it has partnered with OnRamp Fellowship, a program that provides a platform for women lawyers to re-enter the legal profession after stepping away from the practice of law for a period of time.

“Goodwin Procter believes that a diverse and inclusive law firm better serves its clients and the broader legal and business communities,” said David M. Hashmall, chairman of Goodwin Procter. “As part of our commitment to this effort, we are pleased to partner with OnRamp and offer talented women attorneys a much-needed path back to the practice of law.”

Launched in 2014, OnRamp matches experienced women lawyers returning to the profession with law firms for a one-year, paid associate position. Fellows focus the majority of their time on billable work, with the remainder dedicated to training, coaching, guidance, mentoring and networking. View OnRamp’s available Fellowship positions.

Partnership with OnRamp is Goodwin’s latest commitment to enhancing and promoting diversity and inclusion within the firm and across the legal industry. Earlier this year, partner Sabrina Rose-Smith was named as Goodwin’s fellow to the prestigious Leadership Council on Legal Diversity. The firm has been recognized by a number of organizations for its ongoing efforts to advance women in the legal profession, including being named a “Best Law Firm for Women” for the past five consecutive survey years by Working Mother magazine and Flex-time Lawyers.  Goodwin’s diversity initiatives include the Committee on Racial and Ethnic Diversity (CRED), the Women’s Initiative and the GLBT Initiative.
