Goodwin Appoints New Chief Marketing Officer and New Chief Information Officer

Goodwin Procter today announced the recent appointments of Nancy Kostakos as the firm’s Chief Marketing Officer, and David Fleming as the firm’s Chief Information Officer. Both Kostakos and Fleming are based in Boston and report to Goodwin’s Chief Operating Officer, Michael Caplan.

Kostakos, who has been with Goodwin for more than five years, most recently served as the Managing Director of Marketing. As CMO, she is responsible for the full range of the firm’s marketing, communications, and business development initiatives, including brand development, internal and external communications, public relations, implementation of state-of-the-art marketing technologies, business development strategy and practice support.

Prior to joining Goodwin, Kostakos spent 13 years with WilmerHale, including serving as its Marketing Director. Earlier in her career, she held marketing and business development positions in architecture firms in Boston and Atlanta. She began her marketing career as a merchandise marketing manager at Liz Claiborne, Inc. Kostakos earned her A.B. degree in Fine Arts from Harvard College.

Fleming, who has been with Goodwin for more than three years, most recently served as the Managing Director of Network and Infrastructure Operations. Under his stewardship, Goodwin implemented significant technology and infrastructure improvements across key areas, including critical IT services, security, wireless networking, phone systems, remote access solutions, and data management and recovery. As CIO, Fleming is responsible for delivering and maintaining all technology and information services for the firm, including computing hardware, applications, knowledge management and research services.

An expert leader with more than 25 years of experience, Fleming previously served as Director of Infrastructure Services at WilmerHale. Prior to that, he spent more than eight years in IT leadership and management at Intel Corporation. Earlier in his career, he worked at National Semiconductor (now Texas Instruments), Motorola and Shiva Corporation. Fleming is a graduate of the University of The West of Scotland, from which he earned a degree in Computer Science.
