Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly has named partner Yvonne Chan as one of its Top Women of Law 2020. The award honors exceptional female lawyers who are pioneers, educators, trailblazers and role models throughout the state of Massachusetts.
A partner in Goodwin’s Securities, White Collar, and Business Litigation Group and Chair of the firm’s Higher Education Practice, Chan is an experienced trial lawyer who defends clients in a range of white collar and commercial litigation matters, including post-closing and escrow disputes, personal injury and wrongful death cases, and cases involving allegations of fraud or breach of fiduciary duty. She also serves as Co-Chair of the Boston Bar Association’s College and University Section, and is a member of Clark University’s Health Advisory Board.A prolific writer, speaker and thought leader, Chan is a frequent contributor to Goodwin’s Securities Snapshot, offering her insights on a variety of litigation and enforcement matters across the country. She was recently a featured speaker at a Boston Bar Association (BBA) webinar entitled “Higher Ed Roundtable: Managing Legal Risks Related to COVID-19,” and has presented at BBA programs on topics including “Strategies for Cost Effective Ediscovery” and “International Arbitration: What You Need to Know.” In 2019, Chan was selected as the firm’s Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Fellow, which identifies, trains and advances the next generation of leaders in the legal profession.
