President-elect Joe Biden’s reported pick for Securities and Exchange Commission chair is expected to spend some time reversing rules and guidance put forth under former chair Jay Clayton. Biden is expected to pick Gary Gensler, the former Commodities Futures Trading Commission, to lead the SEC. Gensler’s CFTC experience will have an impact on how he runs the SEC, says Nicholas Losurdo, a partner in the Financial Industry group at Goodwin and former counsel to SEC commissioner Elad Roisman.
