Goodwin's German team, led by partner Markus Käpplinger, has advised Veganz on a strategic cooperation with Aramark.

The exclusive cooperation is set to be rolled out across all Aramark business areas, with a focus on the sports and events sector, and company catering.

As part of the cooperation, Veganz will work with Aramark to develop vegan, climate friendly menus that will be executed by the approximately 10,000 Aramark employees across 650 kitchens and canteens in Germany, and offered exclusively under the "Veganz" brand.

"With our excellent corporate law expertise and our internationally recognized know-how in the fields of life sciences, food and healthy living, we were able to efficiently support our client in the context of this cooperation transaction," said Käpplinger. “This enables Veganz to take another step forward in making plant-based nutrition accessible to an even wider range of people. We hope that the share of vegan menus in the approximately 300,000 meals prepared daily by Aramark in Germany will grow and wish both partners every success in their cooperation.”

Veganz is a plant-based food brand. Founded in 2011 in Berlin, Veganz became known as the first European vegan supermarket chain. With a colourful and life-affirming company philosophy, Veganz managed to break into the vegan niche and establish the plant-based nutrition trend on the market. The current product portfolio comprises around 120 products in 17 categories and is available in more than half of all European countries and more than 22,000 points of sale (POS) globally (excluding the three Veganz stores in Berlin). In addition, the Veganz product portfolio is being continuously expanded to include high-quality, innovative items, and the sustainable value chain is constantly being improved. For this commitment, Veganz was voted Germany's most innovative food brand in an exclusive 2021 ranking by German newspaper Handelsblatt.
