Goodwin has brought on Rachel Dooley, most recently the global managing counsel for McKinsey Digital, as its new Chief Innovation Officer. Dooley’s move to Goodwin is the latest in a series of high-level business professional moves in Big Law this summer, as firms look to buttress their leadership heading into what many expect to be a busy fall. “For some shops, innovation is about systems operations,” she said, but she said Goodwin professionals “saw increased opportunities to serve clients, again, with seeing around corners. We want to be a strategic partner, not just a technology provider or a point-in-time solution.” Chief Operating Officer Michael Caplan said most firms in the Am Law 100 are thinking to some degree about client development and strategic differentiation.
