Daily Journal Names Neel Chatterjee and Koray Bulut Top Trade Secrets Lawyers

Daily Journal has named partners Neel Chatterjee and Koray Bulut Top Trade Secrets Lawyers for 2022. The annual award recognizes California-based lawyers on the cutting edge of trade secrets law.

Daily Journal highlighted Chatterjee’s work representing former Google star engineer Anthony Levandowski in the negotiation of a settlement agreement regarding an indemnity dispute, and LG Ads (formerly Alphonso) in a suit against a rival following a failed agreement in which the rival obtained proprietary information.

Based in Goodwin’s Silicon Valley office, Chatterjee is a partner in Goodwin’s Intellectual Property Litigation practice and serves on the firm’s Executive Committee. He has a proven track record of wins in high profile, challenging cases, and has represented some of Silicon Valley’s biggest companies in globally followed disputes.

This is the second year in a row that Chatterjee has won this award from Daily Journal. Among numerous other honors, he has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America Best Lawyers for his work in Litigation – Intellectual Property and Litigation – Patent and Trade Secrets Law 2022-2023, and was selected for inclusion by the Legal 500 in 2021 and 2022. Chambers USA and Global 2021 and 2022 recognized Chatterjee in Intellectual Property: Patent, and Chambers USA 2022 recognized him for Intellectual Property: Patent Litigation. In 2005, he founded the Bay Area Diversity Career Fair, one of the most successful career fairs for the legal industry.

Daily Journal highlighted Bulut’s work representing California banking app company Step Mobile against trade secrets allegations, and mortgage company Synergy One Lending in a dispute with another mortgage company about the use of confidential information.

Based in Goodwin’s San Francisco office, Bulut is the leader of Goodwin’s California Employment practice and co-chair of the firm’s Trade Secrets, Employment Mobility + Non-Competes practice. He has nearly two decades of experience representing Bay Area technology companies in a wide variety of issues.

Daily Journal also named Bulut a Top Labor & Employment Lawyer in 2020 through 2022, and National Law Journal named him an Employment Law Trailblazer for 2022. He was selected for inclusion in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business from 2020 to 2022, and was Recommended in Trade Secrets and Shareholder Activism: Advice to Boards by the Legal 500 in 2021 and 2022. He has also been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America Best Lawyers for his work in Employment Law for 2023.

In addition to his practice, Bulut serves on the Executive Committee of the Labor & Employment Section of the San Francisco Bar Association. He also serves as co-chair of Pride@Goodwin, which is committed to recruiting, retaining, and advancing LGBTQ talent, as well as creating an inclusive and supportive environment across the firm.
