Mr. Broussard joined Goodwin after a clerkship with The Honorable Esther Salas in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. Before clerking, he was an associate in the Chemistry/Pharmaceuticals Patent Prosecution Group at Knobbe Martens LLP.
At Berkeley Law, Mr. Broussard was an articles editor for the Berkeley Technology Law Journal and recipient of the Dean’s Fellowship. He also served as a full-time extern to The Honorable Susan Illston in the United States District Court for the District of Northern California in Spring 2017.
Before transitioning to law, Mr. Broussard was an organic chemist who held numerous positions at pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. He was a researcher at a startup focusing on biomimetic polymers for use as medical adhesives. He served in a regulatory capacity at a vaccine company and in a cGMP manufacturing role at a pharmaceutical company. At an organization aiming to level the playing field for non-English-speaking scientists, Mr. Broussard also prepared academic manuscripts in the chemistry field for publication in English-language journals.
Mr. Broussard received his Master of Science from the organic chemistry division of the University of Wisconsin – Madison, where he was a member of Professor Shannon Stahl’s research group.
