Prior to attending law school, Mr. Burgoon was an AmeriCorps volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, where he worked closely with his affiliate’s legal team. After volunteering with AmeriCorps, Mr. Burgoon taught classes of pre-law students as an LSAT instructor.
During law school, Mr. Burgoon was a Legal Intern for Airbnb, Inc. where he was exposed to the partnership between in-house and outside counsel, the business demands of Technology clients, and the general preparation for an IPO. Additionally, Mr. Burgoon worked as an Independent Consultant for a financial technology bank and gained insight into the business and regulatory demands faced by emerging companies.
Mr. Burgoon gained exposure to the international Technology and Life Sciences markets as a Legal Intern with Horn & Co. in Tel Aviv, Israel. He gained additional exposure to international partnerships as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Oxford, Faculty of Law.
At Berkeley Law, Mr. Burgoon was a Student Lead for the Atticus Project, an organization dedicated to training Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) to conduct corporate due diligence. Mr. Burgoon sought additional education in the field by receiving an Executive Education certificate in AI. To gain additional practical experience, Mr. Burgoon worked with multiple AI startups as an Impact Venture Partner with the Haas School of Business.
Throughout law school, Mr. Burgoon worked as a Summer Associate and Law Clerk with Goodwin, where he focused primarily on Technology and Life Sciences clients.
