Ms. Burris was a member of the diverse, all-female team from Goodwin that advised Serena Ventures on the formation of its inaugural fund, which closed with $111 million in commitments. The fund invests in founders who solve everyday problems through unconventional thinking and diverse points of view, with the goal of building a more inclusive economy and equitable future. Ms. Burris was also on the team that advised TA associates, a leading global growth equity firm, on its fundraising for TA XIV with total commitments at the hard cap of $12.5 billion as well as the team advising Charlesbank, a private equity firm with a middle-market focus, in the formation of their multi-billion dollar private equity funds, most recently on Charlesbank X.
While in law school, Ms. Burris served as a law clerk in Goodwin’s Real Estate Industry practice during the 2019-2020 school year and a summer associate in 2019.
Additionally, while in law school, Ms. Burris interned with the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit for Judge Juan R. Torruella, and the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court for Justice Elspeth B. Cypher.
Ms. Burris is a teaching assistant at Boston University School of Law for their offered “Private Equity & Venture Capital Transactions” course. She is also a member of the Boston Bar Association.
Ms. Burris previously managed the career of a professional BMX rider and X-Games medalist, Matt Ray. With a passion for her community, she continues to partner with him on events, including producing community initiatives for at-risk youth in Greater Boston and Lowell.
