Alexandra Carter is an associate in Goodwin’s Private Investment Funds practice. Ms. Carter represents investment managers on the structuring, fundraising and ongoing operations of onshore and offshore funds, with a particular focus on real estate, infrastructure and private equity asset classes. She also has experience in the structuring and establishment of joint venture/club arrangements and carried interest and co-investment schemes, and has advised on corporate real estate transactions.

In 2019, Ms. Carter completed a four-month secondment with GreenOak Real Estate (now BentallGreenOak), where she advised on the fundraising of various equity and debt funds and corporate real estate matters.

Ms. Carter trained at King & Wood Mallesons (formerly SJ Berwin) and qualified in 2016.

Experience

Ms. Carter’s experience includes representing:

  • Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets on the fundraising of Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 6, which closed at its hard cap of €6 billion
  • Bregal Sagemount on the fundraising of its $1.5 billion growth-focused private equity fund, Bregal Sagemount III
  • GreenOak Advisors (Jersey) Limited, an affiliate of BentallGreenOak, on its appointment as manager of the £1 billion West End of London Property Unit Trust (“WELPUT”) and the subsequent conversion of WELPUT from an open-ended to a closed-ended fund
  • a private equity real estate investment manager on the fundraising of its sixth European fund and associated co-investment vehicles
  • an infrastructure investment manager on the structuring and fundraising of a €200 million separately managed account for an Asian life insurance company
  • a private equity investment manager in respect of various carried interest and co-investment schemes
  • a global real estate investment manager on the fundraising of various European equity and debt funds and associated carried interest schemes
  • a global leader in infrastructure and real assets management on the fundraising of its €4 billion European infrastructure fund*
  • a real estate investment manager on the fundraising of its €750 million European value-add fund, and certain co-investment projects*
  • a real estate investment manager on the fundraising of its German-focused open-ended and closed-ended debt funds*
  • a private equity manager on the fundraising of its €4 billion Nordic buy-out fund, and certain co-investment projects*
  • a pension fund with over £7 billion of assets under management on the structuring of various joint venture arrangements, indirect acquisitions of real estate and primary investments in private funds*
  • a listed infrastructure fund on the acquisition of a loan portfolio financing renewable energy projects*
  • a UK property manager in relation to the launch of its fund management business and the structuring and establishment of its first fund focused on the UK private rented sector*
