Keith Chadwick is a science advisor in the firm's Business Law Department and a member of its Intellectual Property practice. He joined Goodwin in 2018.

Dr. Chadwick assists clients with IP due diligence, prior art research, patent preparation, patent prosecution, and freedom-to-operate analyses. He has extensive experience in the fields of pharmaceutics, with specific expertise in pharmaceutical manufacturing and formulations, physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, solid state chemistry, and polymer chemistry. Dr. Chadwick also has experience in patent prosecution pertaining to inventions in the field of biotechnology.

Prior to joining Goodwin, Dr. Chadwick was Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial and Physical Pharmacy at Purdue University, where his research focused on development of new pharmaceutical manufacturing techniques, novel pharmaceutical formulations, and controlling the crystal form of small molecule drug compounds. Prior to joining Purdue University, Dr. Chadwick was a post-doctoral researcher in the MIT-Novartis Center for Continuous Manufacturing in Boston under the supervision of Professor Bernhardt Trout and Professor Allan Myerson, focusing on controlling crystallization of pharmaceutical compounds. Dr. Chadwick earned his Ph.D. at the University of Manchester (U.K.) under Professor Roger Davey, where his dissertation centered on understanding the crystallization behavior of pharmaceutical cocrystals. He authored numerous peer-reviewed articles in journals including Crystal Growth & Design, CrystEngComm, Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Organic Process Research & Development, Carbohydrate Polymers, and International Journal of Pharmaceutics. Dr. Chadwick served as a scientific advisor to the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences and is named as a co-inventor on a U.S. patent.
