Ms. Chang has experience litigating patents in multiple areas of technology, and has participated in all phases of patent litigation, including pre-suit investigations, fact and expert discovery, bench and jury trials in federal district courts, and appeals. Ms. Chang has also been involved in proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). Some of her representative matters include:
- Counsel for petitioner seeking inter partes review of antibody patent; IPR was instituted, and the case successfully settled before trial.
- Counsel for defendant in contempt damages proceeding; the Court rejected plaintiff’s damages theory and awarded damages in line with defendant’s positions.
- Counsel for defendant generic pharmaceutical company in Hatch-Waxman suit relating to patents on the use of a small molecule cancer drug.
Ms. Chang is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) and the Asian American Bar Association of NY (AABANY).
