Greg Fox is a partner in Goodwin’s Financial Restructuring practice. He joined the firm in 2014.

Mr. Fox’s practice covers any and all matters involving distressed companies. This includes representing corporate debtors, equity sponsors, secured and unsecured creditors, asset purchasers, tort plaintiffs, and other stakeholders in large and complex bankruptcy proceedings, out-of-court financial restructurings, assignments for the benefit of creditors, commercial financing transactions, commercial litigation, and distressed debt investments. His practice spans a wide variety of industries, including consumer products, financial services, retail, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, technology, automotive, telecommunications, and education.

Mr. Fox’s recent representative matters include representing major stakeholders in the following matters:

Gibson Brands representing an iconic guitar manufacturer as debtor-in-possession in its successful restructuring of approximately $500 million of funded debt obligations through a Chapter 11 plan;

Aegerion Pharmaceuticals representing the parent company and substantial creditor of a rare drug biopharmaceutical company in connection with the Chapter 11 restructuring of over $400 million of liabilities;

Millennium Lab Holdings representing the private equity co-sponsor of a lab testing company in prepackaged Chapter 11 cases resulting in the restructuring of over $1.7 billion of funded indebtedness and resolution of substantial government and other asserted litigation claims;

Videology representing the stalking horse and ultimately successful purchaser of substantially all of the assets of a cutting-edge advertising technology business through an auction and sale under Section 363 of the Bankruptcy Code; and

Motors Liquidation Corp. representing various personal injury plaintiffs in multi-year bankruptcy litigation and appeals with respect to claims arising from deaths and injuries involving motor vehicles manufactured prior to GM’s chapter 11 cases.

Professional Activities
Mr. Fox is a member of the board of directors of the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors (AIRA) and an active member of the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) and the Turnaround Management Association (TMA). He is also a member of the advisory board for the annual VALCON conference sponsored by ABI and AIRA.
Professional Experience

Prior to joining Goodwin, Mr. Fox was an associate in the New York offices of Stutman, Treister & Glatt, Friedman Kaplan Seiler & Adelman, and Skadden Arps.


In 2020, Benchmark Litigation selected Mr. Fox to its 40 & Under Hot List in the categories of Insolvency, Bankruptcy, Commercial and Transactions.

In 2020, Turnarounds & Workouts selected Mr. Fox for its annual list of Outstanding Young Restructuring Lawyers, which recognizes up and coming corporate restructuring lawyers who have led major matters over the past year.

In 2019, Mr. Fox was named an honoree of the American Bankruptcy Institute's 40 Under 40 initiative, a prestigious award that recognizes emerging leaders in the insolvency community under the age of 40 and celebrates their achievements.

Mr. Fox was also honored by the Turnaround Management Association in 2019 for his work as counsel for client Gibson Brands, Inc. in its Chapter 11 restructuring, which was named Mid-Size Company Transaction of the Year.

In recognition of his work, Mr. Fox was also selected as a 2017 Rising Star in Bankruptcy by Super Lawyers and was selected to participate in the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges (NCBJ) Next Generation Program in 2014.

In law school, Mr. Fox was an executive articles editor for the Brooklyn Law Review and a member of the Moot Court Honor Society.
