Salil Gandhi is a partner in Goodwin’s Technology & Life Sciences group. Mr. Gandhi specializes in the representation of emerging growth companies throughout their lifecycles as well as venture capital funds and other private equity funds. For emerging companies, Mr. Gandhi advises on a variety of general corporate and governance issues, including corporate formation, venture capital financing and exit transactions. For venture capital and other strategic investors, he advises on structuring and executing investment transactions ranging from angel to control investments as well as portfolio dispositions. He also advises investors and companies in emerging markets, with a focus on India & South East Asia. 

Salil is also a leader in Goodwin’s PropTech Initiative, which is focused on supporting the intersection of Real Estate and Technology through thoughtful collaboration across the two practice areas. As a key member of the PropTech Steering Committee, Salil is responsible for driving strategy across the two groups to effectively support clients involved in the emerging subsector. Some of these initiatives include participation in key industry events, providing thought leadership, and offering important client service initiatives to empower investment and growth across both markets. Salil’s keen understanding of the importance of connecting real estate and technology clients, paired with his collaborative nature, allows for even more natural synergy between these two practices.

Mr. Gandhi’s background in the venture capital, media and technology industries includes law firm, in-house and operations experience. Prior to joining Goodwin in 2017, Mr. Gandhi served as of counsel at Gunderson Dettmer and began his legal career at Paul Weiss. He has also provided outsourced general counsel services to a group of India-focused private equity funds with over $2 billion under management. As an entrepreneur, Mr. Gandhi previously served as head of content acquisition and director of business and legal affairs for Joost, an internet content distribution service founded by Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis and acquired by Adconion Media Group. In addition, Mr. Gandhi co-founded Crybaby Media, a content development and creative packaging firm.*
