Lauren King is a partner in Goodwin’s Private Equity group and member of the firm’s Private Investment Funds practice, focusing on the organization and operation of private investment funds. She also serves on the hiring committee of the firm’s New York office. Ms. King represents a wide variety of funds with extensive cross-border components, including secondary funds, buyout funds, real estate funds, special-opportunity funds, hybrid funds, credit funds and venture capital funds. In addition to fund formation, she advises private asset managers on the full spectrum of corporate matters, including governance, upper-tier structuring, succession planning, marketing and limited-partner transfers. She also represents secondary investors in connection with GP-led restructurings and other secondary transactions, and institutional investors in their private investment fund and other alternative investment activities. Ms. King also has significant private equity and joint venture transactional experience and deals regularly with issues relating to the Securities Act, the Investment Company Act and the Advisers Act.
Prior to joining Goodwin in 2019, Ms. King was of counsel at Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP.
