Ms. Maimone-Medwick is a member of the New York City and American Bar Associations. She is a regular speaker on topics of interest to tax-exempt organizations and has presented on various topics, including at the annual Georgetown conference on Representing & Managing Tax Exempt Organizations, among others.
Prior to joining Goodwin, Ms. Maimone-Medwick was in-house counsel at two large private foundations in New York, where she was responsible for providing legal representation on a wide range of matters, including board advice, compliance with the laws governing private foundations and all aspects of alternative investments, as well as general corporate, governance, commercial, transactional, intellectual property, and employment law.
Prior to her in-house experience, Ms. Maimone-Medwick was a senior associate in the Exempt Organizations department at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP. Her experience included advising private foundations, public charities, and other tax-exempt organizations on a variety of legal, structural and operating issues, including governance, domestic and international grantmaking, tax issues, and endowment investment matters. Ms. Maimone-Medwick also worked closely with Simpson Thacher’s Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Funds departments, and served on the firm’s Associate and Women’s Committees.
