Mr. Menasco served as a senior teaching fellow at Tulane University Law School. He also served as an adjunct professor at the George Washington University Law School from 2008 to 2018. Mr. Menasco sits on the board of directors of the Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund, Inc.
Patrick S. Menasco
Patrick Menasco, a partner in Goodwin’s ERISA and Executive Compensation practice, is a nationally recognized lawyer for matters involving the Employee Retirement Income Security Act and pension plan investments. With more than 25 years of public and private sector experience, Mr. Menasco enjoys longstanding connections with regulators, a broad proficiency in Title I of ERISA, and a roster of clients that includes major national and international financial institutions. His practice focuses primarily on investment funds, general asset management, bank/broker-dealer netting opinions, derivatives and other capital market transactions, prohibited transaction exemptions, government investigations, and adversarial proceedings, including ERISA litigation.
Prior to joining Goodwin, Mr. Menasco was a partner at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP. He has also been a partner at Steptoe & Johnson LLP and an attorney at Dickstein Shapiro LLP. Before joining private practice, he worked as an attorney in the Office of General Counsel at the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation.
Mr. Menasco is regularly recognized by Chambers USA and The Legal 500 as one of the top lawyers for employee benefits and executive compensation.
