Vicente Nuñez is a Science Advisor in the firm’s Life Sciences group. He has practiced for 2 years. Dr. Nuñez concentrates his practice in IP prosecution for companies in the MedTech, Biotech, and Pharmaceutical spaces. He also conducts freedom-to-operate and patentability analyses to help his clients strategically build their IP portfolios in accordance with their business goals.
Dr. Nuñez received his Ph.D. in Bioengineering from the University of California in Riverside. His research focused on developing silica-based surface chemistry strategies for bioinspired functionalization of interfaces, rapid microbial isolation and identification in physiological fluids, and microfluidic "space-domain" approaches for time-resolved emission spectroscopy. He conducted postdoctoral research at Harvard University, where he investigated the cellular and molecular mechanisms that regulate neurovascular interactions by developing novel in vivo imaging systems using two-photon microscopy, optogenetics, and sensory-stimulation.
