Hamel Patel

Hamel Patel is a Senior Associate in the Investment Funds and Capital practice in Goodwin’s London office.

His practice focuses on the establishment of private equity, credit and secondaries funds. He also advises managers on a wide range of related structuring and transactional matters, including their incentivisation arrangements, co-investment arrangements and GP led structuring solutions.

Hamel also advises across a range of investor side mandates, including acting for clients who are corner-stoning new funds, acting as lead investors on complex secondary transactions and seeking liquidity solutions for their portfolios.

Hamel’s representative experience includes advising:

• Advent International on the fundraising of its $17.5 billion GPE IX Fund
• PGIM on the launch of a rated note SMA fund vehicle
• Ambienta on the establishment of its inaugural sustainability credit fund, Ambienta Sustainable Credit Opportunities Fund, which raised over €500 million
• Cubera Private Equity on the establishment of both Cubera IX which raised over €500 million and its successor fund, Cubera X which raised over €800 million each being the largest ever Nordic secondaries Fund at their respective points in time
• Investcorp on the establishment of an SMA co-investing in European PE investments
• BentallGreenOak on the structuring and on the establishment of its €2 billion flagship European Real Estate value-add Fund, BGO Europe IV
• Antin Infrastructure Partners on a GP-led secondary, raising over €1 billion of further commitments
• Lion Capital on the structuring and establishment of a GP-led continuation vehicle
• Prominent Investors for their investments into a range of mega-funds
