Ariel Rogers is a litigation associate in Goodwin’s Complex Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice in Silicon Valley. Ariel regularly represents both private and public companies at all stages of litigation in federal and state court, including dispositive motion practice, complex discovery, mediation and arbitration, and trial. She has experience handling disputes related to contracts, antitrust, copyrights, trade secrets, and class action defense.

  • Won a defense verdict after a six-week trial before a federal jury in San Francisco in an antitrust “pay for delay” litigation
  • Represented a seafood processor company in a JAMS arbitration in a breach of contract and fraud dispute
  • Represented a startup biotech company in an arbitration over a contract dispute
  • Defended a multinational technology company in an environmental dispute
  • Defended an individual in an adversary proceeding in bankruptcy court
  • Represented a cannabis company in California state court in a contract dispute
  • Represented a startup technology company in a trademark and contract dispute
  • Defended a startup company and founder in a contract and securities litigation

Pro Bono
Ariel maintains an active pro bono practice. Her work includes winning summary judgment for class action plaintiffs in a civil rights impact litigation, winning partial summary judgment for class action asylum seekers, representing an individual seeking asylum from Afghanistan, volunteering to assist with voters on Election Day, representing an incarcerated individual in a 1983 dispute, and winning a veteran’s disability appeal.

Professional Experience

Prior to joining Goodwin in 2021, Ariel was a litigation associate at Latham & Watkins LLP in San Francisco, specializing in antitrust and copyright litigation. Before transitioning to law, Ariel worked at Cisco Systems in the company’s services marketing division where she found a passion for working in the technology sector.

Ariel was recently part of a trial team recognized by The American Lawyer and Law360 for their resounding win in an antitrust “pay for delay” litigation in which a federal jury in San Francisco returned a defense verdict on June 30, 2023 after a six-week trial.

Prior to Goodwin, Ariel was part of a team that received one of the Top Defense Verdicts of 2020 and Litigation of the Year - Cartel Defense at the Global Competition Review Awards 2021 after winning dismissal in an antitrust class action brought against global automobile manufacturers.
