Ian Rogers is a litigation associate in Goodwin’s Complex Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice.

Experience

Ian’s practice focuses on antitrust, complex commercial litigation, and internal investigations for public and private companies, boards of directors, and special board committees. He has worked with clients ranging from multinational financial institutions and life sciences companies to real estate investment trusts and private equity start-ups.

Previously, Ian served as a Special Assistant District Attorney with the Middlesex County (Massachusetts) District Attorney’s Office during a six-month secondment. In that role, he prosecuted hundreds of felony and misdemeanor cases, handled to final verdict more than a dozen jury and bench trials, and argued countless dispositive motions and evidentiary hearings before the court.

Ian also maintains an active pro bono practice. He has represented individuals in connection with criminal and civil matters, including immigration appeals and Federal Tort Claims Act actions. Additionally, he is a contributor to Goodwin's Securities Snapshot, a bi-weekly newsletter highlighting news from the civil and criminal securities law arenas.

Previous Professional Experience

During law school, Ian was a law clerk for the United States Senate’s Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations and an intern in the chambers of the Hon. Lawrence J. Vilardo, United States District Judge for the Western District of New York. Prior to law school, Ian received a Gilman Fellowship in the department of Modern Languages and Literatures at The Johns Hopkins University, where he studied intellectual history.
