Sebastian Seeger is an associate in Goodwin's Private Investment Funds and ESG & Impact practice. He provides guidance to fund sponsors, investment funds, asset managers, and intermediaries through the entire life cycle of funds, covering aspects such as structuring, establishment, fundraising, and ongoing operations. Additionally, he offers advice to German Institutional Investors on EU regulatory and corporate issues.

In addition, Sebastian is advocating for a more digital and sustainable future advising on regulatory aspects of funds and innovative businesses that involve digitalization (e.g. Greentech, Fintech, DeFi, ToFi) and ESG & Impact strategies.

Sebastian is native in German, fluent in English as well as French and working on improving his Norwegian.

Professional Experience

Prior to joining Goodwin, Sebastian worked as research fellow and assistant for Professor Dr. h.c. mult. Erik Jayme, LLM (Berkeley) at the University of Heidelberg. Sebastian was also an assistant of a Member of the European Parliament in Strasbourg and a research fellow for the Advocate General at the European Court of Justice Prof. Dr. Kokott, LLM (Harvard). He clerked in several international law firms such as Linklaters, Baker McKenzie (Sao Paulo), Cleary Gottlieb Steen (Brussels), and at the general legal department of Norsk Hydro (Oslo).

Sebastian is a visiting lecturer at the Sigmund Freud University in Vienna and regularly publishes on jurisprudential topics.
