Prior to joining Goodwin, Ms. Sornborger interned at the Security and Exchange Commission through the Student Summer Honors Program in the Enforcement Division at the Los Angeles office. The following year, Ms. Sornborger worked as a summer law clerk for the Department of Commerce, Office of Chief Counsel for Trade Enforcement & Compliance.
During law school, Ms. Sornborger gained experience by interning at the Community Economic Development Clinic where the Clinic served as counsel to nonprofit organizations pursuing racial, economic, and social justice. Ms. Sornborger was also a member of Fordham’s Corporate and Financial Law Journal where she published a Note focusing on the decline of IPOs and the rise of Direct Listings by unicorn companies. She also wrote numerous blog posts featured on the journal’s website. Additionally, Ms. Sornborger was a competitor on the Vis International Commercial Arbitration team. She also went on to coach the team in 2021 when her team became the Willem C. Vis East International Commercial Arbitration Moot World Champions.
