Matthew Wild is an associate in Goodwin’s Private Equity and Private Investment Funds practices. Mr. Wild advises managers on their fund structuring, establishment, operation and fundraising of private investment funds and advises investors on their fund investments. He also advises managers on GP-led liquidity transactions, spin-outs, co-investments and carry and house co-investment schemes. Mr. Wild’s practice covers private equity (PE), venture capital, fund-of-funds, infrastructure and renewable energy funds.

Prior to joining Goodwin, Mr. Wild was an associate in the International Funds Group of King & Wood Mallesons (formerly SJ Berwin). During such time he spent six months on secondment in King & Wood Mallesons’ Sydney office sitting within their International Funds practice.

  • for Duke Street and M7 Real Estate in relation to high-profile and complex GP-led secondary transactions
  • for Palamon Capital Partners in relation to their €400 million PE fund, Palamon European Equity III, following a GP-led secondary transaction
  • on a number of fund raisings for Emerging Market funds operating in a range of sectors including development financial institution (DFI) negotiations
  • for the seller in respect of an AUD1.3 billion portfolio secondary disposal
  • for a major fund of funds manager in respect of a GP-led secondary transaction involving several of its legacy funds
  • for PAI Partners (and several other managers) on their transfers
  • for a major Australian asset manager in respect of the sale of its life insurance business (as regards such business’s fund investments)
  • for a sovereign wealth funds (SWFs) in respect of investments in several funds including managed accounts and where one such SWF was the cornerstone investor in an infrastructure pledge fund
  • for wealth management firms in respect of investments in a range of funds including major PE, debt and impact investing platforms
  • for Phoenix Equity Partners on their £415 million PE fund, Phoenix Equity Partners 2016 Fund
