Expert Panel to Provide Insight on N.Y. Casino RFP Process

Casino and hotel developers and operators will need more than a good poker face and a lucky roll of the dice to win one of the four new resort casino licenses that are on the table in New York State. The highly competitive application and approval process for non-tribal resort casino licenses began formally this month when the New York Gaming Facility Location Board issued a request for proposals.

Join a dynamic group of industry leaders on Tuesday, April 29 at 4 p.m. for discussions covering:

  • Gaming in the Northeast and Prospective Profitability of NY Resort Casinos
  • Nuts and bolts of the NY RFP response process
  • Lessons learned from the recent Massachusetts experience, including trip-wires to be avoided
  • Opportunities for land owners and developers to team with casino operators in the application process
  • The role investment banks may play in the RFP process

The event, held at Goodwin’s offices in the New York Times Building, will include insights from Steve Snyder, Senior Vice President, Corporate Development of Gaming & Leisure Properties Inc. on their spinoff from Penn National Gaming and the creation of the first-ever gaming focused publicly traded REIT. The event will educate developers, casino operators, partners and financial backers on how best to navigate the competitive bidding process and provide information on what to expect.

Goodwin Procter speakers include partners Stuart Cable, Ed Glazer and Andy Sucoff.
