Nick Losurdo Rejoins Goodwin from Securities Exchange Commission

Goodwin is pleased to announce that Nick Losurdo has re-joined the firm as a partner in its financial industry group, and a member of its digital currency and blockchain technology practice. Over the past 17 months, Nick has served as counsel to SEC Commissioner Elad Roisman. While at the SEC, Nick advised Commissioner Roisman on an array of legal, policy and regulatory matters, including proposed and final rulemaking, interpretations and exemptive relief, and enforcement matters. Nick was a key member of Goodwin’s digital currency and blockchain technology practice before he left in 2018 and, as he was then, is at the forefront of this practice.

Nick’s practice is focused on advising broker-dealers, alternative trading systems, equity and option exchanges, and investment advisers regarding SEC and FINRA rules and regulations. He helps technology and other companies in the area of blockchain and digital currency (including compliance with federal and state regulations). Nick also assists private equity funds during strategic and financial acquisitions, dispositions, and restructurings involving financial institutions.

When asked about what he is most looking forward to about working with Goodwin’s digital currency and blockchain clients again, Nick said “Goodwin has been a leader in providing sound and creative advice in this space, and long before it was trendy have a “blockchain” practice. Goodwin is packed with experts in literally every area in which clients might need support and since 2014 has been advising clients these on novel and complex issues. The novelty and complexity of these matters make it even more exciting to return, especially as this market continues to develop.”
