Team sponsorships and individual tickets available through Thursday, November 8th
The Boston Debate League and global law firm Goodwin today announced that they will co-host the inaugural Corporate Debate Tournament, which will bring together the legal and business community for a good-natured competition with a purpose. All proceeds from the tournament will be used to benefit Boston Debate League’s programs. The event will take place on November 13th, 2018 in Goodwin’s Boston office.
Teams of competitors from a number of the largest law firms and corporations in the Greater Boston area will put their skills to the test as they engage in a friendly debate on current events. Sponsors with participating teams to date include Goodwin, Casner Edwards, Foley Hoag, Rubin & Rudman, Seyarth Shaw, Suffolk Law School, Wilmer Hale, and Nixon Peabody.
Participating teams will debate the following question: “What is most necessary for truth to emerge in the United States today?” Each team will be assigned a position to advocate over two debate rounds.
Winners will be determined by the tournament’s judges – U.S. District Judge F. Dennis Saylor IV and U.S. Magistrate Judge M. Page Kelley – who will engage the audience to help make decisions.
Sponsorships are available at $3,500 for a team of four to compete in the tournament. Sponsorships also include brand recognition at the event and four complimentary tickets for audience members. Individual tickets are available at $50. To inquire about team sponsorships or to purchase individual tickets, please reach out philanthropy@bostondebate.org.
The tournament will take place on November 13th, 2018 from 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm Eastern Time, in Goodwin’s Boston office, located at 100 Northern Avenue in the Seaport District.
