Goodwin’s Asia Practice Ranked by Chambers and IFLR1000 for 2019
Chambers and IFLR1000 guides recognized Goodwin’s Asia practice and its lawyers in their 2019 Asia-Pacific guides.
Chambers named Goodwin to its India Corporate / M&A list, citing the firm as the “go-to-choice for many inbound venture capital and private equity clients, especially from the US market.” The guide noted that Goodwin is “highly active in the fast-growing areas of e-commerce, media, technology and life sciences.”
Hong Kong office chair Yash Rana was recognized in the same category, with the guide noting that he is “well-regarded for handling private equity transactions and early-stage investments.” A client commented that Rana is “well versed on India venture capital transactions.” Separately, IFLR1000 named Rana a Notable Practitioner in its Hong Kong edition.
Chambers also recognized Hong Kong partner Douglas Freeman in its China Private Equity: Buyouts & Venture Capital Investment category. The guide commented on Freeman’s “long-standing experience in the private equity space acting on mid-cap buyout acquisitions and growth capital investments”, noting that “he also offers expertise on take-private transactions involving US-listed Chinese corporations.”
