Goodwin Revamps Its Diversity Fellowship Program to Offer New Opportunities For 1LS

Goodwin's 1L Diversity Fellowship Program for the 2022 Summer Associate class is open for applications. Now in its 16th year, the firm’s Fellowships provide first-year law students from underrepresented backgrounds with the opportunity to be a 1L summer associate in Goodwin’s 10-week summer program in 2022, following their first year of law school.

Fellows will spend seven weeks in one of Goodwin’s offices, and they will have the opportunity to spend the final three weeks of the summer program working in the office of a Goodwin client. They will also be invited to participate in the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity’s 1L Scholars Summit in June and are eligible to earn an offer to return to Goodwin for their 2L summer with additional scholarship funding.

Application guidelines and forms are available online; the application deadline is March 15, 2022.

“At Goodwin, diversity, equity and inclusion are core to our business and our values, and we are proud to announce the launch of our revamped 1L Diversity Fellowship Program,” said Emily Rapalino, Goodwin’s National Hiring Partner. “The Diversity Fellowship Program is a critical component of our efforts to recruit and develop law students and lawyers from underrepresented backgrounds. We hope to not only support the next generation of leaders transforming the innovation-driven economy, but to continue to drive inclusivity and to break down barriers in the legal profession.”
