Goodwin has hired Michael Amalfe as a partner in its private equity practice in New York. Amalfe specializes in representing private equity sponsors, private companies and public companies in mergers and acquisitions, minority and joint venture investments, leveraged buyouts, equity financings, carve-outs and divestitures, Goodwin said in an announcement on Monday. Amalfe also advises clients on general corporate and governance matters, including the middle market private equity space. Amalfe's extensive experience and strategic insight will benefit Goodwin's clients and help further drive the practice forward, Brian McPeake, co-chair of the firm's private equity practice, said in a statement.
"Goodwin is an exceptional law firm with a leading private equity practice which does more buyouts and growth equity deals than any other firm and is particularly active within the middle market space," Amalfe told Law360 Pulse in an email on Wednesday. "Also, I was drawn to Goodwin's culture which is both collaborative and entrepreneurial."
