Goodwin Elects PE Pro as Incoming Managing Partner (Law360 Pulse)

Goodwin has elected Private Equity partner Joshua Klatzkin as the firm's next managing partner to take over next year from Mark Bettencourt, who has held the role since 2019, the firm announced Monday. Klatzkin has been at Goodwin since 2006. Based in Washington, D.C., and New York, the leadership swap next September marks a shift in location for Goodwin's top member of management, from Boston where Bettencourt was based and where the law firm's first office was established over a century ago. "This is Goodwin's moment," Klatzkin said in a statement Monday alongside the announcement. "We have a clear strategy, exceptional talent, and powerful momentum, thanks in large part to Mark's exceptional management over the years." For the year, the firm posted $2.7 billion in gross revenue, representing greater than 12% year-over-year growth, alongside a 23% increase in net income, and 20% increase in profits per partner, the announcement said.
