Goodwin Advises Berenberg on the Financing of the Acquisition of IBB by NORD Holding
Goodwin has advised Joh. Berenberg, Gossler & Co. KG (“Berenberg”) on the financing of the acquisition of Institut für Berufliche Bildung AG (IBB) by an acquisition vehicle controlled by NORD Holding.
Berenberg acted as super senior lender alongside Apera Asset Management (“Apera”), a pan-European private debt investor.
IBB is a leading German provider of vocational training and continuing education, offering upskilling, reskilling, and job coaching services for jobseekers, as well as professional development programmes for private individuals and corporates. Its broad portfolio of certified courses, delivered through an integrated education model across a nationwide network of owned and partner locations, underpins IBB’s strong position in a structurally growing, government-funded market. The financing is intended to support the company’s continued growth and development.
Founded in 1590, Berenberg is one of Europe’s leading private banks, with business divisions spanning corporate banking, wealth and asset management, and investment banking.
NORD Holding is a leading German private equity and asset management firm focused on mid-market investments across Germany and Europe.
Goodwin’s transaction team consisted of Folko Moroni and Marius Garnatz Maskus (both Private Equity/Finance, Munich).
